My "SOMEDAY WHEN I HAVE TIME" Reading List

"War and Peace" -- somehow, I've never read this...
"Bud, Not Buddy" -- this is a middle school book, but my students talk about it all the time. I need to read it.
Other random books that are already on my bookshelf. According to TJY, you can't put a book on your shelf until you've actually read it. Right. Good advice that actually did helped me ace my PRAXIS exam, since I had to either read "Crime and Punishment" or take it off the shelf.
"The Scarlet Letter" by Nathaniel Hawthorne. I've read and taught this novel a few times, but I still don't like it. I think if I read it again, for pleasure, and really, really, really think about it, I'll (hopefully) like it. Everyone else likes it. I think English teachers are required to like the classics. I'm just not quite sure why I still hate this book so much. I need to find a way to like it. :(
Best American Short Stories 2006--- I have to read this for class, but I'll be honest, I've really just skimmed through the stories so I have SOMETHING to talk about during our class discussions. I think I'd like the stories, though... if I ever found the time to actually read them. Uggghhhh.

Go to Boo's college graduation. Blue Tigers? Maybe.) * DID NOT ACCOMPLISH. Allision, my BFF, got married in SLC on the day of Boo's graduation in Reno. Impossible to attend both, so I'm recommitting to attend Boo's graduation from her Master's program.
Eat Thai food in Thailand
Attend the dedication of the Kiev LDS temple (Sept 2009, hopefully!) * DID NOT ACCOMPLISH. Dedication took place the day after school started, so it was heartbreakingly impossible for me to attend. I'm recommitting to simply attend the Kyiv temple.
Play "Know Your Cuts of Meat" with Dave Letterman
Eat sushi in Japan.
Vote every year.
Walk on the Great Wall of China.
Talk my dad into taking me to Hawaii for a USU basketball game. Who says I don't like basketball?
Go on a mediterranean cruise.)
Help all the real bad AVID homies escape from selfish clutches of the M.O.B.
Buy a new car. (Trent's right. I work hard. I make enough money, I deserve to drive a nice car.)
Get a good pic of that scary guy on St. Charles Bridge in Prague who thinks he's the devil. (I need better evidence to support the story.)

Never post anything on Staff Chat (unless it's an absolute emergency or an AVID announcement)
Live in a house designed by the soon to be famous Evan Fincher. * WILL NOT ACCOMPLISH because Evan has decided he does not want to be an architect. My new goal is NOT to be arrested by him, since he's currently working for as a police offier.

Read at least 50% of the books on my list of "books I'll read when I finally have some free time" Half is a somewhat realistic goal.
