This has been a good month for entertainment. The lull in tourism here in beautiful Vegas has provided me with opportunities to see four different shows for free this month! :)
KA by Cirque de Soleil
I saw this last month with some friends (half price tickets), but went again when my friend Allison and her family were in town. It's amazing, as to be expected from a Cirque show, but I have to say Mystere is still my favorite. The rotating stage is cool the first time or two, but after the twentieth time it gets a little repetitive. I was also incredibly freaked out by the young, young girl getting together with the creepy old guy in the red speedo who was covered in glitter paint. It was just a lil' much.
Donny & Marie
My roommate's friend got free tickets from one of the dancers in the show, so I couldn't pass this up. I'd heard this was one of the best shows in Vegas, but I wasn't completely sold on the idea until, well... about 30 seconds into the show. I'm almost embarrased to admit it, but from start to finish, the production was simply amazing. Donny and Marie were both funny, personable, and really sing well. I knew more songs than I'd expected, but I'm sure I would have enjoyed it even more if I were ten or twenty years older.
My friend Amanda is a concierge, so she was able to get us free tickets to both Danny Gans and Love. I'd seen Danny Gans before and his show hadn't changed much since he moved to Encore from the Mirage. He's updated a few jokes, but the impersonations were the same. He is, however, hilarious. His show is entertaining and kept us laughing almost the entire time.
Love by Cirque de Soleil
There was so much going on, it was a little over the top, but like all Cirque shows, this was completely amazing. The roller skating guys were amazing. I love The Beatles like everyone else, so it was fun to get into the music. The people behind me were singing along throughout half the show, which made it just a little more exciting than usual.
