Matt is America's Next Top Model
Seriously. You can tell he's been practicing in the mirror. Matt's not only good looking, he's also got all of the poses down pat.
Here's innocent.

I have a Masters degree
Wow. Just checked my email and...
Congratulations on having successfully completed yourThat's it? Just a form letter email my advisor sent to another 10 people. No personal message? No bells and whistles and people cheering for me? I know I didn't want to walk at graduation and make a big deal of everything, but... That's it? Maybe I'll wait and have my OWN CEREMONY when it comes in the mail. I definitely need the cheering.
culminating experience! If you are receiving this message,
I have turned in a passing grade for you forCIG715.
Hmm... Maybe I should move?
I've never completely felt like Vegas is my "home" anyway, so...
You Belong in London |
A little traditional, and a little bit punk rock. A unique soul like you needs a city that offers everything. No wonder you and London will get along so well. http://www.blogthings.com/whatcitydoyoubelonginquiz/ Monday, May 5, 2008Relay '08
Once again, Relay for Life with the AVID kids. We were at Spring Valley High School this year. Their AVID program organizes most of the event and they did a fantastic job.
It was the first Relay experience for the Vista kids, so we only invited a small group. Thankfully Reggie came, all the way from North-Town, to help with the dismantling of the tents. (No, he didn't bring the smallest tent in the world. Disappointing, I know.) This time I was smart enough to only take kids I really like and trust, rather than just the kids who'd be fun and entertaining all night. Yep. I've finally learned my lesson. We made a billion brownies and a gazillion rice crispie treats. Our team raised almost $500. Not a lot, but we put it all together in less than 2 weeks. I've recently discovered that people STILL breakdance. Interesting... Who knew? Unfortunately (for the boys), there are no videos of the hula dancers, but here's part of the dance contest. (The rest of the videos would turn my nice little "G" rated blog to a very serious "PG-13"). Thursday, May 1, 2008I hate UNLV.
I've mentioned this before, right? I still hate it.
Countdown til graduation??? 13 days. Lucky #13. I'm too cool to WALK at graduation and really, nobody would come to see me walk, but I'm definitely hoping to get some nice cards (hopefully nice cards that have cash/ checks/ giftcards inside). Thanks. :) p.s. How's this for a good intro? When Reverend Jesse Jackson spoke at the high school I worked in last year, he asked everyone to stand and repeat the phrase, “Strong minds break strong chains.” He told the students that, although their living circumstances may seem bleak, an education has the power to help people overcome obstacles that may seem insurmountable. He was right. Understanding the politics of education, continuing research related to poverty, and fostering real literacy development through examining and refining existing literacy programs can help students to break these chains. One paragraph down... thousands to go. Thousands.
